I was raised in a Christian home and brought up in a local church. I remained active in West Mount Baptist Church until I was married in 1988.  I was saved at the young age of seven and know without a doubt that I am a born again Christian.  I also am a very strong believer in prayer.  I know the power of prayer and have seen prayers answered.  I also understand the importance of Bible study and realize the Bible still has messages for us today.

Growing up I was very active in church.  As a child I participated in Sunbeams, GAs and Acteens.  I was very active in the youth group as a teenager.  I served as a counselor at GA camp at Chowan College and also two years at Camp Mundo Vista.  I have also taught Sunday School, GAs and served as the VBS director.  I strongly believe that we have the responsibility of sharing God’s love with others.  I presently attend Parkwood Baptist Church and serve in the capacity of “media Personnel.”  I feel very strongly that there is a place for everyone to serve, you just have to have a willing heart.

I have been married to my best friend for 29 years.  We have three children, Nikki, Ryan and Kim.  I also have three grandchildren, Haley, Shyanne and Malorie.  I believe family is very important and enjoy being involved in family activities.

Teaching is my passion.  I retired from the public school system after teaching 31 years.  I have experience teaching grades Pre-K – 8. I have a Masters in Elementary Education and a Masters in Media Library Science.  I am excited about starting my 34th year teaching and look forward to teaching at New Life Christian Academy.  I considerate a privilege to work in an environment where you can talk about God without the fear of repercussions.
