Parents of rising Juniors and Seniors,
We have some very exciting news! NLCA has partnered with Nash Community College to offer our upcoming juniors and seniors dual enrollment. This means that the students will be able to leave our campus and go to Nash or enroll online to take college classes while finishing up their high school requirements. Nash is offering many different pathway options for college certificates for our students to join.
These pathways are:
- Advertising and Graphic Design
- Architectural Technology
- Business Administration
- Computer Engineering
- Computer-Integrated Machining
- Criminal Justice – BLET
- Early Childhood
- Electrical Systems Technology
- Emergency Management
- Emergency Management – Fire
- Emergency Management – Fire EMT
- Industrial Systems Technology
- Lodging Management
- Medical Office Administration
- Supply Chain Global Logistics
- Website Design
- Welding Technology
With these pathways, the students will earn a college certificate and college credits for FREE while finishing up their high school career. They also offer the students the option for an Associated in Art or Science. The students can use either a pathway or an Associate’s Degree option when we start doing schedules this month. This program is an amazing opportunity to get a jump start on college courses and the best part is, the program is FREE!!! The only cost is the books for each class. (Parents will be responsible for the cost of books and for getting the student to and from their classes.) The students will be required to take a placement test at Nash Community to qualify for this program. We are going to go as a school to do this (date TBA). If you are wanting your student to be part of this program, please make sure they are here to go with us for the testing. Contact the school office for an application for this program. Applications must be completed and returned to Mrs. Price by Tuesday, April 25th. We cannot enroll your student without this application. Please talk with your student and decide if this program is for you and make a decision about what pathway or degree you would like to see them pursue so they are prepared for registration later this month. We are excited for the opportunity to offer this to our students and cannot wait to see where this program takes our students!
